Hooray, I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award

Hip, hip, hooray! I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award, and I want to thank Jodie at Prisoner by no crime of my own for the nomination. Jodie only started blogging a few weeks back, and she shares her story as a way to help other survivors of sexual abuse. Jodie’s hard-hitting and honest writing resonates with me. I think you’ll find it interesting too, and I’d encourage you to take a look.

What Jodie says:

“All of my life I have wanted to share my story as a way to help other survivors. Through my words I hope to weave a map to help led other survivors of sexual crimes to a deeper recovery. My goal is to comfort the brokenhearted, and set them on a path that is a little freer in this great journey of life.”

Questions from Jodie:

Nominated for the Liebster award
I’d nominate Elvis for the Liebster Award any day!
  1. If you had a once in a lifetime opportunity to interview someone famous, who would it be? Elvis Presley (stop laughing…………..)
  2. What is your biggest regret? Not leaving abusive relationships sooner or not blogging my about journey sooner.
  3. In which century would you have liked to live? I’d never want to go backwards, and I’m too afraid of what the future might bring. I’ll stay here thank you very much, in this century 🙂
  4. If your life were a book, what would its title be? I’ve haven’t given the title much thought. However, I think I’d like to write my book first and name it afterwards. If I’m pushed for an answer now, maybe My life is worth living, or does that sound a bit naff?
  5. If you had the power to make any animal talk, which one would you choose and why? I’d love to hear a talking dog and would ask him if he’s happy with his owner.
  6. Do you think the United States should have another political party? I’d rather have no political party at all.
  7.  How would you describe yourself in one word? Fun-loving – erm, is that one word, or two?
  8. If you could invent something, what would it be? I’m going to go with Jodie’s answer on this one, and say calorie-free food.
  9. If you had to choose a color to describe your life right now would it be blue, yellow, green, red, grey or other? Yellow cos it’s nice and sunny.
  10. If you needed a mystery to be solved, whom would you turn to for help –Sherlock Holmes, Jane Marple or Hercule Poirot? Oh, that’s easy, it has to be Miss Marple, the fictional character in Agatha Christie’s crime novels.
  11. Which of these artists would you have liked to paint your portrait–Da Vinci, Vermeer or Frida Kahlo? I’d say Frida who’s better known for her uncompromising and brilliantly colored self-portraits that confront such themes as identity and the human body.

The same as Jodie’s, above, and I really look forward to reading your answer. I love these blog awards, where bloggers recognise and appreciate other bloggers and introduce them to our particular niche community. I think it’s a fun way of getting to know a bit more about our fellow-bloggers.

Over to you

Any questions

Love ’em or leave ’em? I know some of you dislike the awards, so go on, tell us why 😉 I love reading your comments and I’m happy to answer any questions. Moreover, I’d appreciate your constructive criticism relating to any part of my blog.

  1. Woop, congrats on the well-deserved award! I’ll check out Jodie’s blog now. I just wanted to say with your answer to no.2 that I really hope you don’t regret the speed at which you did either of these, but instead that you can celebrate the success of actually leaving that abusive relationship and actually starting your blog, which you do brilliantly at. Neither of those are easy feats, so you should be hugely proud. xx

  2. The United States already has many more political parties than the Democrats and Republicans, including at least one (the Libertarian Party) with affiliates in all 50 states and one member of Congress (although he was elected as a Republican and has not yet won reelection since leaving the Republicans). The only thing stopping third parties from being more successful in the US is that the media and the two major parties have convinced people that voting third party is the same as wasting your vote or voting for whomever you hate more. I don’t agree with all the views of the Libertarian Party, but I voted for Libertarian Gary Johnson in 2016 for president because I felt that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were the two worst candidates to ever face off against each other. This year I don’t know what I’m going to do. The Democrats’ Biden-Harris ticket is even more frightening to me, and the Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgenson is a little more extreme in her Libertarian views than Johnson from what I’ve heard, so I’m torn between holding my nose and voting for Jorgenson just to spite the two party system, or holding my nose and voting for four more years of Trump just to spite the Biden-Harris supporters.

I think what the United States really needs is a less powerful federal government, and for more people to pay attention to local elections and the way their states and cities are run, and to butt out of the business of other states and cities and let them run themselves the way they want to.

  3. Heck yeah congrats!

I like your answers! I’m with you on coming up with the title later but your answer was pretty awesome. 🙂 Your answers here paint a great picture of you. 🙂 It says a lot that you choose here and now and I’m thinking that’s probably the best answer although I might go back in time in my own life with my current brain if I had to time travel at all. Lol.

Calorie-free food!!!! Let me know if you get this figured out. Although I could see a whole new brand of malnutrition starting there…

    Nice post thanks for sharing!
