A book review? Shame Ate My Soul

A new book by Susan Walz

I’ve just bought it, and I’m off to read it now…………….

I’ve seen the great reviews for this book and I’ve just bought it from Amazon. Sue writes honestly and courageously about the struggles in her life, particularly when she suffered mental illness.

Ashley, a much loved and respected blogger from Mental Health at Home wrote a smashing review only today. And I don’t think she’ll mind me sharing a ‘snippet’ with you:

“The book opens with a heartbreaking conversation with 2 of her 3 children, as they tried to persuade her to accept help in her depressed state. She told them she wouldn’t kill herself that night, and she “knew it to be true because I promised myself, I would never kill myself without writing letters to my children first. I was far too tired to write my good-bye letters tonight.” I know that kind of thought pattern all too well.”

I’m led to believe there is ‘light at the end of the tunnel’, and I’m truly happy. I’ll let you know even more when I’ve read it. In the meantime, you might wish to drop by Sue’s blog My loud whispers of hope here.
